Dropping out of school??

I want to do it. Because I just hate being in school learning pointless things all day. Plus i have a social disability - so its not easy to make a lot of friends (i have friends - but i'm well below average) - and I'm more mature then almost everybody in the vocabulary I use, the way I do things, what I do in business, etc.

Not to mention that i was doing only OK in a 1-1 student teacher ratio environment - with 3 class trimesters - i'm going to a regular school next year with regular class sizes, and terms with 7 courses at a time. I know i'm going to fail in every way physically possible, so I figure - why even bother trying?

I'm just looking for some moral support here - anybody got any thoughts?

Dropping out will lead you to a hard life.
You'll get nowhere, basically, unless you plan
on getting your GED, which isn't very satisfactory
to some colleges. IF you even plan on going to
college.

That's pathetic. You've got to try.

And in today's world, you won't get very far without a college degree, much less a highschool diploma. Have fun living under a bridge.

Explore your other options. It's very hard to get far in life without a high school diploma. I know it's complete bullshit- everyone knows that. You have to do it though. Get as much help as possible- you can use your social disability to your benefit (not to sound like an asshole, but take advantage of it. You could have counselors falling all over you)

Try your best. Dropping out of high school is bad idea for most people. The real world is tough.

I understand it seems to be hard for you but you've got, what, a couple years of it ahead of you at worst? Imagine if you are out of school and uneducated, undiploma'd (if that is a word!) and with a social disability for every one of the years of the rest of your life.

Maybe you have what it takes to make it without a diploma. There are some people who do and/or are lucky. But there are very few.The rest of your life is going to happen anyway-it'll be worse without an education and paperwork to prove it.

As for your problems in school, have you been tested for autism, or Asperger's, or other conditon that might make it harder to communicate with what seems to be a fairly high intellect that has trouble dealing with a rigid "mass" educatinal system? Depending on where you live and how hard yoru parents push the Bd of Ed, there might be some effecteve program that connects with you better than what you have had.

Don't drop out. Lots of jobs won't accept you, and neither will collage. You need to be able to have a diploma. I'm not really sociable either, but I still go to school. It's not a reason to drop out. Just stay in school. Both my parents were drop outs and they regret it now.
